LAVA Collective (London Audio/Visual Art Collective) invites artists from all over the world to participate in visual art and music events here in London.
Our first group show took place at the Truman Brewery last November, featuring artwork by Shepard Fairey, Swoon, Neck Face and Ricky Powell, alongside our stable of emerging artists. The stars of the show were Brooklyn duo Peru Ana Ana Peru - we were proud to invite them over to appear in their first London show. Our opening night party featured our friends Loefah, Mala, Skipple and Crisis, demonstrating our passion for audio as well as visual art.
In December we programmed a night at The Gramaphone, showcasing Edan’s new record Echo Party. The night featured a screening of the Echo Party film, and a DJ set by Edan himself. The event also featured a slideshow by Ricky Powell, and a live set by Jehst and Micall Parknsun.
During 2010 we will continue to put on combined art and music events, showcasing emerging artists from overseas alongside some of London’s finest homegrown talent. To keep updated on future events you can join us on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter.
