Went to the Paper Magazine party last night – some interesting art on show even though the crowd there seemed to be more into the free booze and music aspects of the event. We liked this smashed up car. It has smoke coming out of the bonnet which added another dimension of realism to the piece and also proved a useful ally to the hoards of renegade smokers in attendance. It was a hip bohemian affair with plenty of Manhattan scenesters milling around. Santigold showed up, looking pretty stunning it has to be said.

This afternoon I went round to the studio of a private dealer called Goldriguez. He had some real gems in there, including some lovely prints by his sister Este Lewis, and a couple of eye-catching canvasses by Peter Pezzimenti. Meanwhile, Delphine was at the Frank 151 Magazine office, locked in negotiations over an exciting new project. Wish I could tell you more but for now it’s well and truly on the d-lo.

Later on we stopped by Blake Marquis’ studio to see what he had for us. We came away with a stack of signed prints and two original sketches. He has some beautiful handmade artwork, we just need to figure out how to get it to London safely as the homemade paper he uses is extremely delicate.

Tomorrow we’re going to Brooklyn to meet up with Peru Ana Ana Peru. Then off to a party at the A Life store… It has been a productive trip so far, its just a question of how long we can keep going before completely burning out! These New York kids know how to party and a good night’s sleep is hard to come by.
